Who We Are

Dr. Denise Bevins
Dr. Bevins grew up in the Northern Kentucky area. She attended Northern Kentucky University, where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biology in 2000. She then attended Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated with a doctorate in veterinary medicine in 2004. She immediately began working at a large AAHA certified veterinary practice in the area, where she was mentored and learned a great deal from the five veterinarians who worked at the practice. In 2007, she moved to Louisville and began working at the Kentucky Humane Society, where her love for shelter medicine began. Although she loved working at the humane society, after getting married in 2009, her husband and she decided to move back home. Dr. Bevins continued work with shelters and rescues and began performing spay/neuter surgeries for a local clinic. During this time, and after much reading and research, her interest in alternative medicine began.
In 2010, she completed the small animal acupuncture course at the Chi University located in Reddick, Florida. After completing an internship with a certified veterinary acupuncturist, she received her certification in veterinary acupuncture in 2015. She became extremely interested in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine(TCVM) and other more holistic therapies. She completed a course in herbal medicine and Nutrition through the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies(CIVT) in 2015. She began shadowing a veterinarian who was certified in animal chiropractic, and her interest in this modality grew. She completed the chiropractic program through Animal Chiropractic Education Source in February 2016, and became certified in animal chiropractic by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association(AVCA) in September of 2016. Around the same time, the Chi Institute announced a new Master's degree program in TCVM. Dr. Bevins obtained her Master's degree in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in the Fall of 2021. She is now continuing to learn about other modalities that may help her patients, including Ozone therapy.
Dr. Bevins is very excited to be offering holistic care for her patients in the Northern Kentucky area, where she currently lives with her husband, two children, two dogs, and two cats.
