At Holistic Veterinary Care, we use the GradyVet P-3000 class 3b laser. This is a noninvasive, coherent light laser, also known as a “cold laser.” Unlike surgical or class 4 lasers that produce heat and thermo-destructive laser energy, class 3b lasers produce no harm to cells or tissues. What should I expect during a laser therapy session on my pet?Cold laser treatments are painless. Your pet will not experience any vibration, pulsating shock, or heat. The only sensation felt is that of the laser head coming into contact with your pet's skin.
Cold laser therapy is an excellent alternative for pets who don’t tolerate the needles used during acupuncture treatment. Depending on the severity and duration of the presenting condition, the number of cold laser therapy sessions for your pet will vary. Some pets experience relief after the first treatment! There are no known side effects from administration of cold laser therapy. |
